Excerpt from The Expectations Formed by the Assyrians, That a Great Deliverer Would Appear, About the Time of Our Lord's Advent, Demonstrated

Even from those writers who profess to draw their inferences, not from historical records, but from physical and philological principles, the deductions derived from the sacred annals receive the fullest confirmation.
