Avant de poursuivre la publication de ces Souve nirs', il me paraît instant d'eoeprimer ma gratitude, doublée d'une surprise, autant qu'elle profonde, à ce public d'optimistes qui leur fait un accueil si favo rable. Il n'est pas à douter que j'en doive le bénéfice à la bonne humeur où je m'e/force de les maintenir, sans peine d'ailleurs, car elle est innée en moi, j'ai honte à mon âge de le dire, et la vie me l'a laissée, avec les cheveux, sa ¿oraison peut - être.
