Introduction to Information and Communication Technology

The purpose of this book is to introduce the computer system, the history and generation of computers and applications of computers in organizations and personal use. It also discuses with definition of data, information, data representation, data processing and sources of the data for processing. The book also includes introduction to networking and the Internet. The first chapter contains introduction to computer and its applications; the second chapter contains the computer system which deals with the major components of the computer system. The third chapter deals with the concepts of data, information, information processing its sources and representations. The fourth chapter deals with operating system without which a computer system will not be operational. The last chapter contains basic introductions to computer networks and the Internet.
