Die von ten Brink (anglia I, 526) vorgeschlagene bezeichnung scheint mir vor derjenigen Sievers' den vorzug zu verdienen, weil sie feinere unterscheidungen ermöglicht und auf dem prinzipe beruht gleit laute zu unterpunktieren. Aber erst unter der annahme von diphthon gierung durch palata10 wird das princip der bezeichnung das angegebene und diese diphthongierung scheint Sievers durch die Beitr. IX, 205 if. Beigebrachten gründe für das ws. Erwiesen zu haben. Mit ten Brink will ich also ea, eqrd, ggat für Sievers' ed, card, g'eat schreiben.
