A long description of Kisses would have to start with a viewpoint.... what is the source, what is the viewpoint. Hence: Tom Smith is a guitarist, a banjo player, a story teller and as it turns out, he also writes. Tom is a guy that discovered two notes, the infinity of different ways that they could be played, was a lot more interesting than becoming the history teacher he was planning to become. Tom took off into the world to see what frozen rivers, Cowboys, Steel Workers, Lobster fisherman, truck drivers, lumberjacks—those two note—are about. He's thinking "if you are not on the pony you are on the ground." Like Ken Kesey would say "you are on the buss, or you are off the bus." The attitude of Tom's pony is sometimes less than beatific. Kesey probably had a similar relationship with the bus. Tom has a treasured photo of Ken's bus being pulled out of the Oregon swamp it had found itself in. Tom calls his pony Spin, although sometimes he uses other names for her. She has a glass eye, and sometimes likes to think she is a helicopter. Spin has a restless heart and not much patience, nor does she much like cameras. Tom does consider this a challenge with recordings, writing, publishing and all of the rest of the "business" of life as an artist. Be that as it may… things do get done. A case in point is this current offering Kisses For more information about Tom, or to contact him, visit TomSmithGuitarist.com. Sincerely My name is Inigo Montoya

About the author

Born with a restless heart? The thing is if you were born with a restless heart, and also a musician, it could lead you to a life of being in the world, being connected with peoples' lives, it could lead you to having stories which should be shared. The music could be considered the "verb" in living, with the words being the photographs of moments in time. Kisses is the first of a series of books containing these moments in time.
