Excerpt from The Student and the Body-Snatcher: And Other Trifles
Here was once a student living in Northumberland, in a remote vil lage, who had no faith in God. He lived under the thatch at the middle of the vil lage street, opposite the rectory, and on Sunday mornings he used to watch the rector walk out of his gate, Bible in hand, and then he would sit down to his own books.
One Sunday a good old woman brought him a Bible, saying that it would do him good; but he opened it quickly and she read where he pointed with his finger.
