Estas reglas particulares resultan de que las construccio nes ordinarias son calculadas en todas sus partes para resis tir a un esfuerzo continuo i vertical de arriba hacia abajo la pesantez - así como a la reaccion o al empuje mútuo de sus diversas partes, entre tanto que aqui se trata de la ac cion de resistir a un movimiento horizontal ondulatorio brusco i vertical de abajo hacia arriba. Se concibe sin difi cultad que deben seguirse reglas especiales para el arte de construir.
