Oggi, picmei, non intendiamo di Dante cheil verso e la prepotente immaginazione ma un giorno, quando saremo fatti più degni di lui, guardando indie tro all' orme gigantesche ch' egli stampò sulle vie del pensiero sociale, andremo tutti in pellegrinaggio a Ra venna, a trarre dalla terra ove dormono le sue ossa, gli auspicii delle sorti future e le forze necessarie a mantenerci in guell'alteeza che egli, fin dal decimoguarto secolo, additava a' suoi fratelli di patria.
