Altra fonte di errori fu un inventario delle pergamene, che il Canonico Archivario Mosè Melles pretese di fare nel 1822, in sostituzione di antichi preziosi inventarii per ignavia perduti! Egli non seppe leggere le pergamene sbagliò i nomi, sbagliò quasi sempre le date, per modo che un Vescovo da nu' epoca lo vedi sbalzato in nu' altra, spesso da un secolo in un altro lontano!
