IV. La non 080, per altra, afiermare che Dante conoscesse le apere di Plinio il Vecchio, né che potesse comunque attingere tali notizie dalle scuole. Il Plinio citato in De Vulgt:ri Eloquentz'a, II, 6, non sappiamo se sia il Vecchio a il Giovane. Trova tuttavia nel primo due passi, che fanno stretta riscontro con altri luoghi danteschi.
