Las plantas son seres con vida. - Forman el lla mado reino vegetal, de la misma manera que los animales constituyen el reino animal. Como éstos, pasan también aquéllas por épocas de infancia, y vejez para terminar con la muerte. Caracteriza á las plantas una particularidad notable y es que su temperatura no excede, salvo en los períodos de germinación y florescencia, de la ambiente, pasando lo contrario en los animales.
