Si disse, che nelle larve delle rane delle sala mandre acquatiche che come voi ben sapete, hanno branchie; e' respirano guisa de'pesci non vi sia stilla di sangue, che partendo dal cuore non passi per le branchie medesime Prima di circolare per le parti del corpo questa cosa fu detta da uno ripetuta da molti e da taluno affermata anche di veduta ma il fatto è che non una stilla ma un torrente di sangue sfugge in questi animali la via delle branchie, di maniera che, sian dessi in istato di larva, 'ovvero di animale perfetto oir cola sempre per le loro arterie un sangue misto vale a dire un sangue venoso ed arterioso.
