Sin embargo algunos varones célebres han'trabajado sobre este fértil suelo para sacar del olvido restos de pasadas grandezas; como el Jurisconsulto Pons de l'cart, natural de la misma Ciudad, que en el año 1573 publicó un libro sobre las grandezas de Tor ragona, en el cual describe sucintamente los restos imponentes que existian en su tiempo; pero ignorante de la historia del pueblo que las construyó, omitió partes de sumo interés.
