Je ne finirai pas sans solliciter l'indulgence du lecteur pour les fautes de langage qu'on pourra trouver dans ce travail. L'accueil très - honorable pour moi que l'académie des Sciences a bien voulu accorder à mes premières re cherches sur les phénomènes électriques de la torpille, m'a engagé à publier, dans une langue qui n'est pas la mienne cet essai auquel elles ont frayé la route.
