Excerpt from Higher Education and the War
The following chapters are based on lectures delivered for the St. Andrews Provincial Com mittee and otherwise, and it may be well to say that most of my criticisms on the German educa tional system were published in an address to the Secondary Education Congress on 17th May, 1913. They are not, therefore, unduly in¿uenced by the present war. I have thought it best to retain the lecture form.
