Excerpt from The Northern Genealogist: For 1895
From a transcript made by the late Colonel Rowland Smith, from a ms. Book in the hand of Mr. Babb, who was Town Clerk at the beginning of the present century. I have compared it with the original Court Book, which it appears to exhaust; and I have also arranged the entries alphabetically. The sums opposite the names denote the amount of fines paid, and m 26 Hen.8 8, I find the following scale fixed.
