Ma se in lui non si ha a separare l'uomo dal filosofo; se la sublimità dell'ingegno di quel grande non fu mai disgiunta dalla soa vità dei costumi; se l' assidua e felice ri cerca delle cose naturali fu sempre nel Volta diretta dalla sincerità della fede ed accom pagnata dalla santità della religione: tempo è però che quest' Accademia lo presenti an che, di una corona di lauro sul campo stesso dei maggiori suoi trionfi, e che attesti alla repubblica letteraria ed alla posterità quanto il Volta ne 5121 di lei benemerito e quanta gloria le procacciasse.
