Unsere deutsche mathematische Literatur hat ja. Auch uber den vorliegenden Gegenstand manches tre¿'liche Werk aufzuweisen. Um nur eins zu nennen, gedenke ich des Werkes meines hochverehrten Lehrers, des der Wissenschaft zu früh entrissenen Professor Kirchhoff. Indessen bin ich überzeugt, dass Alle, die das letztgenannte Werk zum Gegen stand ihres Studiums gemacht haben, und die mit mir seine Vorzüge zu würdigen wissen. Meine Ansicht theilen werden, dass es zu einem Lehrbuche für den Anfänger auf diesem Gebiete nicht geeignet ist.
