Schliesslich sei noch bemerkt, dass von dem zweiten Bande nur die Einleitung (geometrie der Massen), sowie das I. Und II. Capitel der Statik bei Lebzeiten des Verfassers erschienen sind. Jedoch war der übrige Theil (das III. Bis VI. Capitel) im Manuscript vollständig druckfertig und wurde auf Veran lassung der Kaiserlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften ohne irgend wesentliche Aenderungen herausgegeben.
