I limacidi che vivono in Italia si possono dividere in quattro categorie 1° specie continentali europee; 2 specie continentali esclusivamente italiane; 3° specie litorali mediterranee; 4° specie litorali esclusivamente italiane. Le specie continentali possono vivere (come accade di molte) anche nelle regioni litorali, mentre le specie litorali non vivono la dove non giunge l'in¿uenza del mare. Gli Arionidi sono tutti continentali.
