Wooden test samples for detection of the presence of borers are being placed on all coasts. A compilation of past attempts to pro teet wooden structures and the success attained is under way. It is estimated that one hundred thousand dollars will be needed annually for a few years, in addition to the contributions in services and sup plies, just mentioned, valued at one hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year.
