Es boten sich somit in der verschiedensten Form dem Meere offene Stellen, wohin Strömungen gelangen und ihren klimatischen Einfluss auf Ablagerungen*, wie auf die Landumgebung ausüben konnten. So wird einerseits eine kalte Strömung (aus dem Weissen Meer oder aus nw.) Klima und Fauna arktisch-nordischen Gepräges (mit häufig beobachteter Beimischung von Nordseeformen andererseits der Zutritt des Golfstromes erneute Temperaturerhöhung mit sich gebracht haben. Wechselnde Absperrung des Meeres zuganges musste einen Wechsel dieser Verhältnisse ver ursachen.
