Les destinées de l'architecture sont bien remarquables c'est au même tems où, sans distinction l'on détruit un grand nombre de monumens gothiques que leurs membres grèles sont introduits dans les nouvelles constructions. J e dis que sans distinction l'on démolit les bâtimens gothiques pour indiquer mon opinion qui n'est pas d'y applaudir; car toute vicieuse que soit cette archi tecture il est utile de conserver au moins parmi nous les plus importans édifices qui en restent encore sur pied, pour servir à l'histoire de l'a'rt.
