Nel dettare la presente Operetta alla quale in sei anni è toccato l'onore della quarta edizione, l' Autore ebbe principalmente per iscapo di fare un libro che fosse opportuno per l'insegnamento del diritto positivo negli Istituti tecnici del regno. Avendo perciò dovuto piegarsi ai programmi governativi, n' è derivato che alcune materie segnatamente di diritto civile, sono appena sfiorate e ad altre fu data una trattazione relativamente pm larga essendosi tenuto conto anche di leggi speciali legate con la materia che l' Autore aveva tra mano.
