Les corporations romaines avaient leurs divinités protectrices et leurs cérémonies religieuses; elles s'assemblaient comme les nôtres, dans des ban quets solennels. Leurs dépenses étaient alimen tees par des cotisations, des dons et les revenus des biens leur appartenant. Elles étaient placées sous la surveillance du pouvoir et ne pouvaient rien faire sans son autorisation, du moins en ce qui concernait leur administration.
