Excerpt from Über den Sogenannten Letzten Fermat'schen Satz
Um letztere zu erledigen, erschien somit der von kummer ein geschlagene Weg nicht gangbar, wenn man annimmt, daß fermats Behauptung wirklich für alle Zahlen richtig ist. Es mußte ein anderer Weg gesucht werden. Ich habe deshalb zunächst die idealen Zahlen ganz beiseite gelassen und versucht, die Frage durch rein algebraische Identitäten zu erledigen. Die Methode ist dieselbe, die ich schon früher befolgt hatte; die ersten Paragraphen (gl bis 9) stimmen mit den entsprechenden meiner früheren Abhandlung)
