A questo mutamento altro ne succede, tale da distruggere la enunciazione suddetta. Lo strato celluloso, gra facente un corpo unico e compatto intorno all'asse dato dal cercine composto di 5 grandi cellule, si è alla sua volta scisso in cinque lobi aventi ciascuno per base una delle grandi cellule componenti l'asse. Questi lobi conser vano sempre gli elementi loro, cioè: la massa delle cellule che es sendosi separata dall'asse viene a costituire in ciascuno dei lobi una sorta di midollo, e lo strato pseudocorticale fattosi assai spesso ed occupante l'arco di cerchio alla sommità di ciascuno dei 5 lobi.
