Ville mobile is the continuation of the eponymous exhibition organized for the 2010 Saint-Etienne International Design Biennial in which the city of tomorrow took shape. The objectives arising from the necessity of sustainable development, along with the innovations spawned by the digital revolution have redesigned the urban life. Under these conditions, how to transform a culture of the city inherited from the past ? A complex undertaking, since acting for the city requires multiple wills and commitments, especially from political and financial fields. Should we even dare dream of successfully transforming the city ? In any case, we consider the topic to be of a fundamental importance, and would like to see more involvement on the part of designers.
