Auch Gerhardt') erwähnt das Papayotin als ein Mittel, "das in den meisten Fällen ausserordentlich rasch die Pseudo membranen zum Verschwinden bringt, während einzelne Fälle allerdings eine gewisse Resistenz dagegen zeigen. Für den engen Larynx der Kinder hält er diese Behandlung für be sonders wichtig.
