Man wann friiher fiir den pharmateutischen Gebrauch aus vielen W'urzeln as darin enthaltene Stärkemehl; in der Regel blieben demselben andere in den Wurzeln enthaltene, in Wasser schwer lösliche theils bittere, theils scharfe Stoffe anhängen und veränderten daher die 'irlzsamkeit dieser Faecula genannten Präparate, je nach der Pflan magattnng, aus der sie bereitet worden.
