Excerpt from Reply of J. P. Kennedy to the Review of His Discourse on the Life and Character of Calvert: Published in the United States Catholic Magazine, April, 1846
I take this occasion to correct an error which will be found in the Discourse, and which has escaped the observation of the critic. I have de scribed Sir Robert Cecil as lord treasurer, after wards earl of Salisbury. He was first created earl of Salisbury, and afterwards lord treasurer.
