About the author

Belinda Yuen is a Professorial Fellow and Research Director at the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), where she directs the Lee Li Ming Programme in Ageing Urbanism. She is interested in the study of cities, and in particular in understanding the interactions between the urban built environment and its social, cultural and environmental dynamics. Belinda holds a BA (with honors) in Geography from the University of Singapore, an MA in Town and Regional Planning from the University of Sheffield, and a PhD from the University of Melbourne.
Penny Kong was part of the Lee Li Ming Programme in Ageing Urbanism at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Her interests include urban design, sustainable development and the infinite possibilities that lie at the intersection of design, technology and culture. She is deeply passionate about the arts and believes everyone should have equitable access to arts and culture as a way of life. Penny graduated with a BA in Architecture and an MA from the National University of Singapore.
