La traduzione italiana, a cui ho gia posto mano, e che sarà continuata senza interruzione fino al ter mine del testo pubblicato, dischiudera fra breve gli arcani fonti della poesia Valmiceja. Frattanto e per chè meglio si abbracci compendiata l' ampia tela dell' epopea, ed affinchè più facilmente si com prendano le osservazioni critiche, che m' occorrerà di dover fare più innanzi sul libro terzo e quarto, sporro qui un sunto di questi due libri, che se guita e si connette a quello, che ho tratteggiato nell' Introduzione al volume primo 1.
