The purpose of the book is to draw attention to relationship between copyright and human rights. The study concentrates on Article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948 which guarantees the rights of authors, both moral and economic rights, and at the same time preserves the rights of the community as a whole to have an access to works protected by copyright for the purpose of dissemination of knowledge. The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights 1966, especially article 15 (1) (c), translates the spiritual obligation under the Universal Declaration into specific legal obligations to be implemented by states parties.
