Huber v. Steiner, p. 598, is a leading case on the rule that the limitation of actions belongs to procedure and not to the substance of the action, and must follow the lex forz'.
Smith v. Thomas, p. 617, is preserved as a historical curiosity to shew how modern our law of defamation is in many important points. The Court of Common Pleas held in 1835 that a defendant who pleaded that an alleged slander was a privileged communication must expressly allege in his plea that the communication was made in good faith.
