Information competencies are a key factor in lifelong learning. They are the first step in achieving educational goals. The development of such competencies should take place throughout citizens' lives. Experts in information management should assume the key role of facilitating information literacy in any community. This study explored the extent of agricultural information literacy of Fiditi fruit farmers in Afijio LGA in Oyo state,Nigeria. It also examined the agricultural information need of the farmers, their sources of getting such agricultural information, the agricultural information literacy programmes available, facilities available to source for agricultural information, their agricultural information literacy skills, major problems encountered by the farmer in accessing and using agricultural information and suggested some effective measures to improve the overall literacy of the fruit farmers.

Information system) from Babcock university and graduate studies in Information Science from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.(Masters Information Science, 2014).He has authored/co-authored some publications in the area of information/social science
