Questo feto possiede tutte le falangi dei piedi meno l' ul tima dei grossi diti; esso possiede pure tutte le unghie meno quella dei medesimi diti. Tale difetto si osserva pure nella madre del feto e in tutti gli orang-utzin presi a Borneo da doria e beccari. È quindi necessario conchiudere che la mancanza di questi due organi in certi orang-utan è nor male, come lo è in altri la loro presenza.
