Espero que la conquista de la Galia se ofrecerá asi en mi relato revistiendo un aspecto movisi mo, y que se observará mejor cómo esa conquista hizo posible una civilización europea permitiendo á Roma iniciar su gran mision histórica de mediadora entre el Oriente civilizado y la Europa bárbara.
