This work is an appraisal of the Nigeria Electoral Act 2010 as amended on two important General Elections in Nigeria namely the 2011 and the 2015 General Elections. It examines how the Act impacted on the credibility of the elections.Issues relating to the electoral body that is the Independent National Electoral Commission, voter registration, women participation in the elections, internally displaced persons, diaspora enfranchisement and independent candidacy among other issues were examined in the light of the provisions of the Electoral Act.The work identified certain provisions in both the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Electoral Act 2010 as amended as obstacles towards achieving free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria. It concludes and recommends that if free, fair and credible elections were to be achieved in Nigeria some provisions of the Nigerian Constitution 1999 and the Electoral Act 2010 have to be amended in order to guarantee free ,fair and credible elections in Nigeria.
