Immuno-depressive effects of Beauveria bassiana Vuill. on rice hispa

Entomopathogens coming in contact with the host invade cuticle and enter the haemocoel; there interaction between the pathogen and immunocytes (Plasmatocytes and Granulocytes) takes place. This book describes this process taking Beauveria bassisna as the pathogen and the rice hispa, Dicladispa armigera (Coleoptera : Chrysomelidae) as the host. About the author

Dr. L. K. Hazarika former Dean and presently Professor and Head, Department of Entomology, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat obtained Ph.D. degree from Rutgers University, USA in 1986 and published more than 150 scientific papers including one in the Annual Review of Entomology. Gender-specific immunocompetence is his major contributiion.
