The author, Dushimumukiza has been among the few females working in conservation and community development in her country, Rwanda. She is a committed woman and a role model to the young ladies by showing that females are capable and can greatly contribute to the Natural Resources Management. Her book determines the extent to which CBTs enhance the livelihood of local communities around Nyungwe National Park and the way its acceleration can be replicated. In this book, readers will find the perceptions of community businesses, non-profit organizations and government authorities on CBT development. The combination of SWOT-AHP method and other research methods were used to provide with relevant information and recommendations to support the above stakeholders' groups in their strategic decisions. The book also indicates the range of factors that influence Community Based Tourism in Nyungwe National Park and their importance (pairwise comparison) to determine the priority factors which need too much consideration with regards to CBT development in that area.

About the author










Dushimumukiza is the Director of Academic programs and Research at Kitabi College of Conservation and Environmental Management. She has completed her BBA from SFB-Rwanda and her M.Sc in Tourism Destination Management from NHTV Breda, Netherlands. Her 16 years professional career was dedicated to tourism, conservation and TVET training in NRM.
