In the present edition of On rend l'argent it has been thought best to omit some passages of the original text to make it more serviceable for class use. These omissions, however, do not detract from the interest of the story. The text of the edition of 1898 has been followed. Those who are acquainted only with the first edition of Les Vrais Riches (1892) will perhaps be interested to learn that in the last edition several.
