About the author
Charles P. Griner is a leader in the development of the original curriculum in Horticulture for the State of Georgia. He retired from Colquitt County High School, Moultrie, Georgia after 40 years in education. In 1978, Dr. Griner was named Colquitt County High School’s Teacher of the Year and was Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Alumni Association’s Educator of the Year in 1997. He is also the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from National Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association in 2003 and was elected to the Georgia Agricultural Education Hall of Fame in 2004. Dr. Griner has taught numerous workshops in Floral Design for Horticulture teachers and has taught numerous winners in state floral design competitions. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, a Master of Education Degree, and Educational Specialist Degrees in Agricultural Education from The University of Georgia. He earned a Doctorate Degree in Vocational Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
