About the author

Paul I. Trensky was born in Czechoslovakia. He emigrated to the United States in 1958, and received his Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures at Harvard University in 1962. He taught at Boston University and the University of Illinois. At present he teaches Russian and comparative literatures at Fordham University.
