About the author
Greg Keyes war vier Jahre alt, als seine Familie in ein Navajo-Reservat in Arizona umzog. Dort lernte er die Sprache des Indianervolkes kennen und erwarb sich eine lebenslange Begeisterung für geheimnisvolle Zeichen, Rituale, Mythen und Legenden. Nach einem abgeschlossenen Anthropologie-Studium veröffentlichte er 1996 als J. Gregory Keyes seinen ersten Roman "Aus Wasser geboren". Es folgten weitere Fantasy-Romane, darunter ein Zyklus historischer Alternativwelt-Romane und Bücher aus dem Star-Wars-Universum. Der große Durchbruch und Vorstoß in die erste Reihe der amerikanischen Fantasy-Autoren gelang ihm nun mit seinem Roman "Der Dornenkönig", dem Beginn des Epos "Die Verlorenen Reiche". Die Kritiker überschütten Greg Keyes mit höchstem Lob, der Roman schoss in der US-Bestsellerliste ganz nach oben, und immer wieder wird die Anlage des Epos mit George R. R. Martins Meisterwerk "Das Lied von Eis und Feuer" verglichen. Die detailreiche Ausgestaltung der fremden Welten und die packende Dramaturgie der Handlungen passen einfach stimmig zusammen und sorgen für ungetrübten Fantasy-Lesespaß.
