A co-operative form of agribusiness organization is different from other forms of organization. It is a voluntary association of persons for mutual benefit and its aims are accomplished through self help and collective effort relating to agribusiness issues. The main principle underlying an agribusiness cooperative organization is mutual help, i.e., each for one and all for each. Business decisions must be made on the basis of comprehensive strategic planning, rather than in reaction to adverse internal or external developments. No universal strategic planning system exists. Rather, each system encompasses philosophies unique to the agribusiness organization. This publication reports and analyzes the comprehensive strategic planning systems that agribusiness cooperatives have developed and incorporated into their organizational structures. The success of all phases of the agribusiness depends on competent personnel working together smoothly and efficiently.
