Conventional concrete mix materials and reinforcement in structural concrete are mostly non-sustainable and getting depleted globally. Other materials, that may be suitable as constituent materials remain un-utilized or under-utilized as such, occur in large quantities in different locations and environments in the world. Some of such materials pose environmental menaces as they are disposed off indiscriminately as wastes rather than having to be utilized. The suitability and viability of such materials need to be explored for exploitation as construction materials for socio-economic sustainability.
