About the author

David W. Eaton is a Professor of Geophysics in the University of Calgary's Department of Geoscience where he served as Department Head from 2007 to 2012. He is presently co-director of the Microseismic Industry Consortium, a novel initiative dedicated to the advancement of research, education and technological innovations in microseismic methods and their practical applications for resource development. His current research is focused on microseismic monitoring and induced seismicity, intraplate earthquake swarms, and the lithosphere-asthenosphere boundary beneath continents.
