Excerpt from The Transition in Agriculture

The great interest aroused throughout the country on the subject of small holdings has led me to think that a cheap edition of the present work - ih which much information will be found on such subjects as peasant proprietary, market-gardening, milk-supply, agricultural organization, transport and marketing questions, and other matters of direct concern to small holders and allotment holders - might be not unacceptable at the present moment. Circumstances have not permitted of my bringing up to date the numerous figures con tained in the volume, but the general position and the arguments based thereon remain, I consider, the same as when the book was first published.
