Given the increased attention of achieving SDGs in Bangladesh, this study seeks to re-envision procurement as one crucial tool for Sustainable Development that seek to bolster green economy strategies. This study makes several contributions to the field. For policy makers, practitioners and academics interested in sustainable procurement, it is useful to see perception and practices of sustainability issues and scope of incorporating into public procurement legislation. To date, we are not aware of any studies in the context of Bangladesh that have assessed sustainable procurement policy nationally and internationally. Sustainable procurement can be seen as having social, environmental and economic elements and this study allows us to analyze which elements have greater emphasis nationally and internationally.
